Does ECU programming work on every BMW or VAG vehicle?

No. It depends on model, model year, control unit, software version and the released function. Naming a make is not a guarantee for every vehicle. Have the desired work checked before you buy.

What else is needed for J2534 pass-thru?

For compatible OEM workflows you need a suitable Windows PC and separately provided manufacturer software, plus accounts and licenses where applicable. TOPDON states one limitation for operation with OEM software: DoIP system diagnostics are not supported in this mode.

Does TopFix AI replace testing on the vehicle?

The AI helps you interpret fault codes and possible test paths. The cause must be confirmed by suitable measurements and vehicle-specific tests.
